Instant dinner with ham and cabbage is very easy to prepare. Ham, cabbage, potatoes, celery and carrots are cooked with butter and chicken broth. you will loveCooked dinner.

My parents were excellent cooks and very good at making big pots of durable things. I have shared somesimple shepherd's pie, despite not making it into an instant pot,INSTANT-CHILIit's basically his recipe. Of course I bragged about her.Mom's Classic Egg Noodle Salad.Ham and cabbage used to come after eating ham at Christmas or Easter. However, it's also a great dish for St. Patrick's Day.

Preparing ham and cabbage dinner is a breeze, whether you put it in a pressure cooker like I did or throw it all in one pot on the stovetop. As easy as it is to make and as much as I like it, it didn't do much for my husband and kids. Neither of them seem to be fans of boiled cabbage. hm, love it with extra butter on the potatoes and some apple cider vinegar for a bite.- Yummy IMO.

Does it matter which ham I use?
Absolutely not, I'm sure it would look great with whatever you choose. However, I personally believe that the more fat the better.
Could another meat be used?
I'm sure it would go well with pork chops too, or if you're like my daughter and don't eat pork, a turkey breast would be great.

What shall I serve for dinner?-This time I served Pillsbury Fridge Cookieshttps://www.pillsbury.com/🇧🇷 My mother always served bread and butter with every meal. A salad is also a great accompaniment. If you are looking for a great dessert, how about thisChocolate cream cake without an ovenÖApple and Cinnamon Pie🇧🇷 I'm suddenly hungry just thinking about it.

This dinner is awesome whether you use the Instant Pot convenience (which I love) or cook it in a pot on the stovetop. It's definitely great to be cooked in a slow cooker/slow cooker all day, too. Whatever you decide, come back and tell me how it went. Have you made any changes or adjustments? Thanks in advance.

I only had a cup and a half of chicken broth available. And I threw it in the Instapot because of my potatoes and carrots. Do you think this will work? I hope so because I just put everything in and started my Instant Pot.

I'm sure as long as it's at least one glass it's fine.

I used smoke butts; The one at the top, with a lot of food, didn't hold up well under the pressure. I'm still looking for celery that I chopped too small. Most of the cabbage we knew is gone from this world. The carrots held up really well. The potatoes couldn't take the pressure and held up a little better than the cabbage. I'll omit the salt and mix the pepper into the broth next time I try to make this.As for using smoke butts, middle name is fat, omit the butter!!! I think this will be quartered and sliced next serving; And there will be a next time!
The 3 cups of chicken broth ended up having more than double the liquid and maybe cut that in half?
It tasted good.

Thanks for telling me about your experience, as for the liquid, I prefer lots of broth. I would say personal preference.

I just made this recipe and it turned out wonderful. I used my leftover ham for the dressing, low-sodium chicken broth, and unsalted seasoning. He will cook again. I love my instapot and the recipes I've used, this one is included.respondents

This recipe was a winner. I found it too bulky for the pot and had to reserve some potatoes, carrots and cabbage for another day. I think my veggies must have been big.
The only mod I made was to insert an onion.
Thanks for a great meal!respondents

Great Rob, I'm glad you liked it. Onions are definitely my thing, I always have them, but my son hates onions so I usually leave them out when he eats them. Thank you for visiting us with your review.

Well, my options were "vent" or "seal". I didn't know what "natural" was, so I stuck with "eruption". I burned almost everything. Luckily I was in the kitchen the whole time and saw that the steam had stopped escaping. The prosciutto was on the bottom creating a lovely golden sauce.

That was very good. I made the first of this type of recipe in my Instant Pot. I didn't have celery, I used seasoning) and only used 1 1/2 pounds. Ham instead of the 2 I ordered and it filled my 6 qt to the brim. I considered doing 1/2 at the time, but I went for it and it worked out well. Next time I'll make half the recipe. You will need to edit the recipe to indicate it is for an 8 quart pot. I made it for lunch and ate it again in the evening. haha i liked it a lot. Thank you for sharing!
